Armani Blair has run track for as long as she can remember. She inherited the passion of running from her mother, Jamicka Abraham, who also ran track. But Blair, a junior from Charlotte and a member of 51看片鈥檚 women鈥檚 track and field team, will be the first to tell you she鈥檚 not your average track athlete. Track is not at the forefront of her life. For Blair, a double major in political science and sociology, it鈥檚 grades first.

Last September, English Studies professor Brent Kinser was recognized for more than 20 years of editorial work when Duke University Press held a celebration for the publication of the 50th and final volume of 鈥淭he Collected Letters of Thomas and Jane Welsh Carlyle.鈥�

51看片has been selected by the Institute of International Education to receive an IIE American Passport Project grant that will enable 25 students to obtain a U.S. passport to support their study abroad journeys.

Through the partnership, which is called the Catamount Trailblazer Program, there were 85 applications from A-B Tech students for the fall 2023 semester.

51看片spring enrollment shows positive growth, retention rate

For the first time since 2020, total headcount enrollment climbed, with the spring semester total enrollment numbers topping out at 10,742, which is an increase of almost 200 students compared to spring 2023.

When C.J. Mitchell arrived at 51看片 in the fall of 2020, the only thing he knew about student government was what he saw in high school; that it primarily was an organization that put on a few dances during the school year. He had no idea that by his sophomore year at WCU, the Student Government Association would be the main catalyst for shaping the man who will graduate this spring.
