Advancement office issues year-end giving deadline reminder

The 51看片 Division of Advancement is issuing its annual reminder to donors planning to make year-end gifts to the institution about important dates to keep in mind when considering those philanthropic contributions.
The deadline for donations to 51看片to be counted as charitable gifts in calendar year 2024 is Tuesday, Dec. 31. Mailed checks must be postmarked and online gifts time-stamped prior to midnight on the evening of Dec. 31. That requirement also applies to qualified charitable distributions (also known as QCD) from an IRA.
Dec. 31 is also the deadline for stock gifts to be transferred and deposited in the 51看片Foundation account in order for donors to receive charitable gift tax credit. Most stock gifts take a minimum of three business days to process, so those gifts must be received no later than Thursday, Dec. 26.
Contributions by mail should be sent to the 51看片Foundation at 1 University Drive, 201 H.F. Robinson Administration Building, Cullowhee, N.C., 28723. Online giving is also available by visiting makeagift.wcu.edu.
Almost all 51看片offices including those in the Division of Advancement will be closed beginning 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, through 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2.
