Global Spotlight Series tackles drug smuggling, human trafficking
51看片 will host a Global Spotlight Series event titled 鈥淚llicit Trafficking in Humans and Drugs鈥� about aspects of smuggling and law enforcement Wednesday, April 10, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 101 of the Forsyth Building.
鈥淭here are covert endeavors that make criminals rich and create societal problems that won鈥檛 go away,鈥� said Niall Michelsen, 51看片associate professor of political science and public affairs. 鈥淔or this discussion, we will have four points of view on issues that are in the news now, just as they were years ago.鈥�
The presentation, a DegreePlus event for students, is free and open to the public. The topics and 51看片presenters scheduled for the discussion:

- 鈥淐reativity, the Mother of Innovation 鈥� and International Drug Smuggling鈥� by Al Kopak, associate professor of criminology and criminal justice.
- 鈥淎 Brief Economic Analysis: Trafficking as an Unintended Consequence鈥� by Audrey Redford, assistant professor of economics.
- 鈥淪ee Something, Say Something: Domestic Strategies to Combat Human Trafficking鈥� by Cyndy Caravelis, associate professor of criminology and criminal justice.
